Paul's Raised Pond
« on: March 23, 2011, 01:14:43 PM »
Here is my 175 gallon raised pond, I need to add some new plants to it before the blanket weed takes hold! Currently I have an iris and lilly from my dad and some Elodea in the bottom. Advice on what to add needed!

I would add floaters..  Lots of floating plants..

Also, most hygrophylas will do well on our summers.

I am thinking of a pond, but on a far smaller scale.  I think it will be the nano of the pond world and will be in a half barrel or something.

Just need to make sure mrs pt does not spot it until it is in the garden! ;)

I'd be very surprised if a Heron could get anything in there. They need to wade in usually don't they?

Noooooo!

Herons can sit on the side of the raised ponds and pick the fish out as it sees fit...

they are equipped with a fishing rod round here!!!
