i can see a lot of work has already gone into this already to get to this stage and certainly looking a lot more spacious than i first thought, and certainly can`t wait to see more photos has this progresses through the stages.

can`t wait to see some photos of what you will be creating with the nano`s bigmatt but definitely sounds like they are going to be very impressive and certainly can`t wait to see the first one you are working on  *:)*

These photos are day 1... Now we have worked out the wood list for the tank stands, huge 4" x 4" posts to hold the tanks up. These also need to be secured to the wall with 10" torx bolts! This will not move at all!!!

When the glass tanks arrive - 16th May we will be woodworking to the max.

I have to map out the office wood requirements yet, then it is off to the woodyard to work out a deal.

If we can get someone to watch the kids for a while we'll be through  *;D*

Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.

They have arrived... OMG they have arrived!  *argh*

now whilst we are at it - may I draw your attention to this room... note how white it is... and this is with NO lighting!!!

and here is the customary shot of the ladders.... these are nearly 6m away from me when I took the photo - this gives you a scale perception.

The tank dimensions are for each one....

200x30x45 (cm) (lxwxh)

They total 212l volume - EACH ONE!!!! *jawdrop*

So in total I get 600x30x45 or 616l of tank!

Each tank can hold 5 pots deep... and... 33 pots wide... which is 165 pots... or a total holding of 495 pots!

now bunches...

Each tank can hold 10 bunches deep... and... 66 bunches wide... which is 660 bunches... or a total holding of 1980 bunches! *jawdrop*

AND - this is the first STACK!!! There is another stack due in July!

I would really suggest keeping the Tropica ones emersed in high humidity. If you're keeping them in stock underwater, they are going to be going through transition and will arrive with your customers in a more delicate state. If you can keep them as Tropica supply them, they should stay healthier and in a stronger form. Bunched stems underwater obviously, but pots I would keep emersed.

You will soon see what we have planned for tropica. This involves a small volume of water, and a mega fog volume!

now it is time to receive the wood... *yahoo*

Lets have a sense of scale... the piece of wood that starts at the bottom of the picture is 12ft (4m) in length! The smaller ones going left to right are 8ft (2.4m)  *jawdrop*

bit of a chippies dream at the moment...  *argh*

So  the plan is simple... tomorrow morning I am committed to another small outing - the local car boot sale... but tomorrow afternoon - I am going to attempt the construction of the stand.

The stand will be 2.4m high - floor to lighting bar... it will be 2m long and contain all 3 tanks. The total weight will be 750kg for the water, 100Kg for the substrate and about 100kg for the stand itself... so easily a metric tonne.

All three tanks will be fed through a single pump and sump - eventually... but just to get them working and tested - I am going to drop a U3 or U4 in each one to get some circulation. The heaters arrived as well - but so far the lighting has been delayed.

you will see very soon what I mean as I hope to put up more photos as I go along.

Those stands need to be stroganoff enough to support the weight, a ton is a lot!

I can't wait to visit the shop.
